Does God love animals too? is comon phrase among many people

A few days ago, I was talking to a lady who told me how much she loved her puppies.

She asked me, does God love animals too?

She told me that she could not understand how God allowed animals to suffer at the hands of human beings.

In her mind, there seemed to be the idea that God is not really interested in animal welfare.

But is that true?

#1. God cares about animals

To answer this question of Does God love animals too?, I invite you to read a bible fragment, as an example on the subject:

“Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.

Exodus ‭23:12‬

The eyes of all creatures look to you,and you give them their food at the proper time.

You open your hand, and you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The Lord is fair in all his ways and faithful in everything he does.

Psalm 145:15-17

#2. God was pleased with His creation.

There are many occasions when God demonstrates his interest in the welfare of animals throughout the Bible.

When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff.

Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?”

Numbers 22:27-28

To cite just a few examples: To the Israelites, he gave several commandments in which he conferred certain rights on animals.

In cases like Jonah’s, God tells Jonah that he does not destroy Nineveh for the love of the people and animals in it.

Jesus himself talked about how God feeds birds and animals.

In the example of the verse with which we introduce the topic, God shows how he does not want animals to be abused in domestic work.

On the contrary, he gave us the Sabbath so that animals, like us, can also rest.

The answer to today’s question Does God love animals too is very simple.

#3.God is love

God, being the creator and sustainer of all that exists, loves every being, every creature that roams is earth and wants us to live in harmony with them.

He desires the creatures to be happy, in their sphere, and to live in peace.

God wants us to love and care for animals. You can learn more about Gods love.

That was the first responsibility he delegated to Adam in the Garden of Eden.

Consequently, God abhors the mistreatment of animals and condemns it multiple times in his word.

To sin against animals, abusing them, or mistreating them, is to sin against our God.

It is not showing appreciation and respect for the work of their hands.

God’s heart, full of love, abounds even for every plant, every organism in the universe.

So we too, understanding God’s heart, will seek to love, care for, and respect his creation.
