I’m so glad you’re asking yourself that question.
That means God is at work in your life and is calling you to Him.
One of the predominant themes in the Bible is how to obtain salvation.
I would like to share with you a couple of thoughts on that topic.
For that, let’s read a short fragment of scripture:
This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness — for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
| Romans 4:22-25
It is common to think what we must obtain salvation through merit in our works.
But that is a wrong perception.
In the times when the Lord Jesus walked on this earth, the Jews mistakenly thought that they could be accepted by God by following a number of rules and norms that would keep them immaculate and make them like God.
But like some of us today, they were wrong.
The only thing that could have saved them was faith in God and in the one who would come.
The promised messiah.
The Lord Jesus before their philosophies responded, “(…) what reward will a man give for his soul?”
There is certainly nothing we can do, or give, that can deliver us from the condemnation that our sin brings.
The only thing that could redeem us was the death of God Himself.
Salvation is a gift from God that is obtained only by faith in his son Jesus.
How incomprehensible and sublime is the righteousness of God, who in order to save us sought the way to justify our redemption.
He, being God, died for us.
The debt is paid, now he can save us.
It is nothing more than the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that allows sinful man to be accepted by God our father.
The scripture says:
“(…) what was impossible for the law, because it was weak by the flesh, God, sending his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, condemned sin in the flesh; that the righteousness of the law would be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
Obtaining salvation is a process that consists of believing in Jesus, loving Him, and as a product of that faith and that love, accepting his sacrifice as the only means of salvation.
Then give our lives to serve him and obey him in everything, that is the only means by which we can find salvation.
Only in Jesus, in no one else.
Through no other name or instrument can we find forgiveness and freedom.
Our best deeds could not justify us before God, it is only faith in Jesus that does.
“(…) without faith it is impossible to please God.”
Now, the test of our faith is our worship.
Our life must be the song that brings glory to God.
Let us give our whole life and our obedience to the only one who deserves it, to Christ Jesus.
