I Don’t Believe In God Anymore: Why Can’t I Believe In God

There are several reasons which people express today to indicate why they do not believe in God.

Today I would like to share with you, which I consider being the most important reason the Bible mentions for this matter.

To do so, I would like to ask you to read with me this little Bible text:

(…) everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.

| John‬ ‭3:20-21‬

In the previous verse, I see reflected much of what my life had been.

I also think that it is the experience of many of those who have not found God in Jesus.

There are many people who prefer to keep some distance from God.

Many even do not tolerate being close to Him.

The reason the Bible presents why people refuse to believe in God is that believing in God requires a change in our lives.

People are afraid of that change, so we look for reasons to justify ourselves by saying that we simply cannot believe in God.

But what we don’t really want is to commit to Him because if He exists then that has implications for my life.

The nature of sin retains control of our lives, and we do not feel comfortable being close to God.

Being close to God confronts us with our sin.

He is holy and we are not.

Scripture says that he who practices the truth approaches Jesus.

I don’t know how it works, not how it is, but this implies that for us to feel comfortable being close to Jesus we necessarily need to be at least willing to practice the truth.

Part of the initiative is taken by us and the Lord helps us with the rest.

If you’re going through a situation like that.

If perhaps these words resonate with you, I want to invite you not to be afraid to accept God into your life.

He wants to help you, he wants to give you his hand to save you from error.

He wants to give you eternal life and make you truly happy in him.

Give God the opportunity to take you in his arms, cleanse you and transform you.

So you will never want to be away from Him again.

I hope these words have been a blessing to your life.

What is your experience? Why don’t you believe in God, or why do you think people don’t believe in Him?

  1. What’s happening with me just difficult at the moment to real to express. I guess it complicated to speak on it. I know when God want it reveal it will for the best describes the truth about him.
