Learn 3 Ways to Allow Yourself to be Used by God

Those of you who love God should allow yourself to be used by God.

You should long to live for Him and be useful to Him.

This is why we often ask ourselves things like what I can do to be used by God or how can you allow yourself to be used by God.

There are many ways you can allow yourself to be used by God and serve him

#1. Yield your life to God

Just look around to see the vast number of opportunities that exist in our society to help people in need.

Allow yourself to be used by God so that you can serve others

There are specific ways God can use us for specific purposes, and today I would like you to allow yourself to be used by God.

On this occasion, I would like to share with you a little about the life story of a man who greatly allowed himself to be used by God.

The prophet Samuel

From before he was born, Samuel had been consecrated to serve God for his mother, who had asked God in prayer to be sterile.

When Samuel was born, after serving his time of lactation, his mother took him to the tabernacle and handed him over to the priest Eli to be his servant.

Samuel grew up with the priest Eli, serving God in his tabernacle. Eli taught Samuel how to allow himself to be used by God.

At that time, God did not communicate with the people of Israel because the children of Eli, who were the priests, dishonored God by committing sins. They did not allow themselves to be used by God.

They misused offerings and even had sex with women within the tabernacle. they failed to avail to be used by God

God could not use the religious leaders of that time because they were evil men who did not fear him and did not honor him.

On one occasion, when Samuel was still Young, God directly contacted him. Eli had instructed the sample to allow himself to be used by God

Read part of the story with me:

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”

Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

And the Lord said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.

At that time, I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family—from beginning to end.

For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.

Therefore I swore to the house of Eli, ‘The guilt of Eli’s house will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.'”

The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.

And all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the Lord.

The Lord continued to appear at Shiloh, and he revealed himself to Samuel through his word there.

#2. Enter his presence with Prayers

To tell you how to allow yourself to be used by God by entering to his will.  learn more about Gods will

I would like to contrast the difference in the character of the children of Eli, whom God could not use, and Samuel, whom God constituted as a prophet, by making some observations.

The first contrast I want to make is that the children of Eli, who were supposed to be God’s servants as his priests, did not love God or avail to be used by God.

These men disrespected the people’s offerings, polluted God’s house with sins, and exercised the priesthood with ungodly hands and hearts.

By contrast, Samuel, in his youth, had been rightly instructed to love, honor, and respect God.

Samuel lived his short years in the tabernacle, allowed himself to be used by God

, and learned from those who had more knowledge.

For God to use us for his service, we need to fear, honor and love Him. Besides availing yourself to be used by God

Otherwise, we will desecrate the holy and the good by being in a position of service instead of serving him.

The second contrast I want to make between Samuel and the sons of Eli is that the sons of Eli were not faithful to God and did not allow themselves to be used by God.

They had duties to fulfill and rules to abide by.

However, they began to neglect their faithfulness in the performance of their duties, and so their appreciation and respect for the holy were weakened to the point where they became blaspheming men.

Moreover, Eli’s children did not obey their father, who had already drawn their attention to their sins and asked them to repent them. They also did not allow themselves to be used by God.

Instead, they continued their evils by disobeying their father.

By contrast, the young Samuel was faithful in his temple work. He was available to be used by God.

He did what he could in the best possible way and allowed it to be used by God.

Likewise, we can see from the story that when he thought Eli called him at night, he woke up from his sleep and, on three occasions, went to see what his mentor needed.

God can use people willing to be faithful in the call he gives them. As long as you allow yourself to be used by God, he will use you.

If we are not prepared to be faithful and do our job, even more so if we are not doing it now.

Why do you want God to use you in something else? You should allow yourself to be used by God.

We need to learn to be faithful and available in the present so that when we are presented with greater responsibilities, we will also be faithful.

We cannot expect faithfulness and obedience to be bestowed upon us with the calling. You must allow yourself to be used by God by availing yourself to be used by God.

#3. Serve in God’s work

From now on, we need to allow ourselves to be used by God to exercise his presence at all times.

I’d like to make is that being helpful to God involves serving by availing yourself to be used by God.

There is no single job in God’s work that does not involve service.  You can read more about service to God in the Serving God book by Leod.

Thus, just as Samuel was in a position of service in the temple, we must maintain an equal attitude to allow ourselves to be used by God.

Always be willing to serve in the form and to the extent that opportunities present themselves to us.

If you want to be used by God, then allow yourself to serve right now as you have at hand to do so.

Conclusion

Different things can be said about how to allow yourself to be used by God. However, I would like to conclude this post by saying that availing yourself to be used by God is not so much a matter of capabilities as it is of character.

The closer we are to God by allowing him to work in our lives to make us in the likeness of Christ, the more prepared we will be to serve Him in the best way.

I hope these words will bless your life and help you allow yourself to be used by God.
