How To Disciple Someone In 3 Bible Steps

One of the most rewarding experiences of writing this blog has been being able to have the privilege of helping others draw near to God.

I can certainly say that this is a wonderful experience that comforts and gives a broader purpose to my life.

We all need God, whether we realize it or not, so today I’d like to share with you some bible ideas about how to help others draw closer to God.

For this, I invite you to read a short bible text about it.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.

Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.

But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Ephesians 5:8 -14

The bible text of today is part of an exhortation written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus, in which the apostle encourages them to remain faithful to the principles of integrity that they had already learned.

In it, he compares those brothers to the light in the midst of darkness.

Before, they lived in darkness without knowing where they were going or where they were standing.

Without understanding what they were doing or why they were doing it.

They hurt themselves and other people, they lived in a condition of ignorance, but at the time of receiving the letter, they lived in the light.

Living in full awareness of the true purpose of their existence and of what was good for their lives.

Dear reader, in many cases people do not approach God because they do not know that there is something better.

They just live the way they have learned to live, being brought up away from Him.

One thing we can do to help others draw near to God is to show them the good they don’t know exists.

To be light, to live a life of kindness, justice, truth, and integrity.

Living a life that others see and say: that’s a life worth living, I’d like to be a bit like that person.

I think that’s one of the best ways to help others draw near to God.

I’m not just talking about superficial things like the way you dress.

What I mean is love, patience, I mean kindness, honesty, responsibility.

I mean smiling, being hospitable, being generous.

I mean living according to what is good, what pleases God.

In this way, being a light for others, they will be able to see that there is something better, and they will be able to search for it.

To help others draw near to God it is not necessary to raise one’s voice to condemn and repudiate, darkness is uncovered with light.

Let us denounce darkness, by contrast, let it be evident in seeing our light that there is nothing good about darkness.

One of the purposes of light is to illuminate. As Christians, we must seek what is good and illuminate with love the dark corners of the earth.

This allows others to also receive the light of Jesus as we have received it.

In this way, we can help them draw closer to God.

But if on the contrary, we live as those who have no God, instead of helping others to draw closer to God, we will be part of the group that needs to draw near to Him.

If we love the darkness and turn to it, we become part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I hope these words are a blessing to your life.
