Holiness In The Bible: Tips On Living a Holy Life And Biblical Holiness

In the secular society in which we live today, it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to live in holiness.

Multiple distractions and several temptations hinder this important process of developing a Christian character.

The question then arises: how to live in holiness in our times, from a biblical perspective?

In life there is a great truth, a truth somewhat uncomfortable for many.

We were born in the crossfire on a pitched battlefield.

Whether we like it or not, you and I have to choose between being warriors or being cannon fodder.

Let’s reflect on a fragment from the scripture where we can find these ideas.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-11, 13-18‬

The Bible reveals that the world, as we know it, is largely a system orchestrated for thousands of years to distract, stun, deceive, and turn away from God.

All its brilliance, all its glory, all its fun, and philosophy has gradually become a trap.

Think about this for a minute.

The social media on which most people waste our free time.

Most of what is on television and movies feed our minds with garbage.

Secular music influences our unconscious mind, leaving us with abominable messages and ways of acting that go completely against God.

Video games and YouTubers whose ideas diminish our cognitive abilities.

The junk food we eat, the time we go to sleep, the little care we have for our body and mind.

The eroticism tattooed in every corner where we look, our vanity, the sexed courtships that destroy our spirituality, an attack on the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Even the courtships that being holy come at times inconvenient for our spiritual development.

The inordinate desire to achieve “success” according to human standards, money, and everything else.

The vast majority of what surrounds us today is a creeping trap and a big lie.

The vast majority of people go through life ignoring that important detail.

We are in a war.

Because of ignoring that reality of life, we walk on land mines every day, injuring ourselves with every step, voluntarily receiving constant gunfire.

To live in holiness, it is necessary for us to awaken to this reality.

To live in holiness in this time, we need to recognize the reality of the condition in which we live.

Every day we are at war, since we wake up we need to be determined to fight for the love of our savior and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The way we can live in holiness is thus to stand firm in the Lord and in the power of his strength, for we have no war against blood or flesh.

Let us go out today and every day with that awareness to face life, let us protect our mind and our heart with care.

Let us seek to live in holiness, let us fight the good fight of faith, disciplined in the science of salvation, and grasping by the hand of Jesus walking in the spirit.

I hope this reflection has been a blessing to your life.
