¿Qué espera Dios de nosotros según la Biblia?

What does God expect from me and my life? | According to the Bible

Read Time:3 Minute, 41 Second

I still remember that moment in my life when I wondered, what does God expect from me?

What does God expect from my life?

If you’re going through times when you need an answer to that question, I’d like to propose a life purpose to you, telling you a little bit about my experience and sharing ideas found in the Bible about it.

Let’s read together this fragment from the Bible that lays out this topic:

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?

And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?

And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?

As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

| Romans‬ ‭10:9-11, 13-15‬

A few months ago, while traveling in Asia, I saw things that deeply impacted my mind.

Perhaps I will never forget the time when I had to see dozens of people worshiping statues of penises or the times I saw them practicing divination in temples where human or animal deities are worshiped.

As a child, I read that God deeply dislikes idolatry, but it wasn’t until I had to see it and experience it with my own eyes, that I experienced the sensations and impressions that made me understand why.

With that preamble, I want to propose a life purpose that answers the question of what God expects from you.

There is a consensus that the world is divided into two: west and east.

The work of revealing the love of God in Christ Jesus in the West is well advanced, but the same is not true in the East.

There are about four billion people who have not been properly evangelized, and two billion of them, who have never heard the name of Jesus.

After seeing and understanding these things, I could see that there is an important and transcendent work that surpasses myself and to which it is completely worth dedicating myself entirely.

I could also see that never having thought about the need of these people had been selfish.

Similarly, I was also able to understand, in perspective, the significance of my earthly goals and my life itself, compared to the lives and salvation of all those people who perish eternally for lack of knowledge.

My friend, God has a special purpose for your life.

A purpose that surpasses yourself.

Those of us who are living lives that are truly centered on ourselves are disobeying the commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Having the opportunity to be light to those around us, if we choose not to shine, we also disobey the commandment of the great commission.

Consider giving your life into God’s hands to help others be blessed to know Him.

I once heard someone say that in this world, there are languages where the word “hell” does not exist, simply because those who speak those languages have lived in hell every day.

Languages where there is no word for “hope”, because why have a word for something you’ve never seen.

God expects you to love without measure, God expects you to live your life in the perspective of eternity.

Let us give ourselves, take up our crosses and share grace with those around us, and why not, to the ends of the earth.

What God expects from your life is that you will push back the darkness and bring the admirable light so that the whole world may live the half-day of salvation that only comes through Christ Jesus.
