Cómo vencer los obstáculos según la Biblia

How to face life’s obstacles and problems according to the Bible

Read Time:3 Minute, 11 Second

We all often go through times in life when we are confronted with major obstacles and problems that intimidate or confuse us about the future and God’s will.

Today I would like to present a fragment of the history that I am studying these days in the Bible for the edification of all of us.

It is the story of the liberation of the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.

The moment they went out and fled.

At that moment, God places them in front of the Red Sea and the Egyptian pharaoh comes with an army behind to force them back to Egypt.

They thus had a giant obstacle in front, the sea, and an immense problem behind, the army.

Moses prays to God for help, and here is a fragment from the episode.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

Exodus 14:15

These words caught my attention.

How is it possible for God to say to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me?”

At first impression it did not seem coherent in such a situation, with a massive army behind them and with the sea at the front, what else could Moses do?.

However, a precious lesson lies behind these words.

God had already promised deliverance for Israel and had shown that he had the power to execute it through great acts.

God had already done the impossible in many ways and on many occasions.

God Himself had brought them to the place where they were.

The fact that at this moment the people distrusted and will claim why they had been taken out of Egypt to die in the desert, shows their weak faith.

If God had helped them in the past and led them in the present, he certainly wouldn’t let them perish.

In the face of such a promise of deliverance, God’s affirmation is an appeal to them to act resolutely toward what God had promised.

They had an obstacle in front and a problem behind, this made them forget that there was not only an obstacle, but forward they also had a promise.

They were only to believe the promise and trust in the one who had given the promise.

The only way out was forward, there the promise was, even when there was an obstacle impossible to overcome they had to prevail in faith and move forward.

We often act in the same way.

God shows us that He is with us, he has led us and mapped us out a path, he has given us a promise.

However, our faint heart, seeing the obstacles and problems, forgets the faithfulness and power of God.

We involuntarily doubt the one who takes care of us, helps us, and sustains us.

At such times, God also tells us to ‘keep going’.

In the face of obstacles and problems, let us respond with resolute acts of faith and trust in God’s faithfulness.

Let us move forward toward God’s will that he would work on our behalf by dispelling obstacles and solving problems.
